The University of Delhi after a long drawn period of anxiety and wait has finally released the admission schedule for UnderGraduate and PostGraduate applicants on it's official website.

The much-awaited cut off lists will be released on 12 October 2020, which will be followed by 4 more cut offs and a Special Drive cut off, after which the university has exclaimed it may release cut offs if there are vacancies.

The Procedure to be followed by applicants who wish to get admitted on the basis of the cut offs is mentioned below as provided in the DU Bulletin-

Each course has a different eligibility criteria in respect to the cut offs. Some require BEST OF 4, some BEST OF 3, and then there are additional requirements too. Applicants who wish to understand the criteria for the specific courses they want can read the DU UG Bulletin.

Also another important thing to be mentioned is that there is NO First-come-First same basis admissions in DU. Applicants are given a time period as mentioned in the schedule within which if they apply and are clearing the cut offs with genuine documents, they will surely get admitted.

Many applicants have doubts regarding the Special Drive cut offs. Such applicants needn't worry as Astitva is here to the rescue! Special Drive cut-offs are basically released by colleges for applicants belonging to the Reserved Categories (SC,ST,OBC,EWS,KM,PWD, etc), and even those applicants should be the ones who've not taken admission in any of the previously released cut off lists.

The Notification Released On Official DU Site

Apart from Special Drive cut offs, shifting colleges and courses is allowed in subsequently released cut offs. The procedure for which has been mentioned in the DU Bulletin and has been explained down below-

Further, the University has also mentioned the Admission schedule for the UG Entrance courses (BBA,BBE,B-TECH, etc) as well as the PG admissions. The session for newcomers is set to start from 18 November 2020.

Another doubt which intrigues the minds of applicants is the procedure for ECA and Sports Admissions. Don't worry juniors! We're here to help.

Basically the system is such that based on the marks scored by a student in their trials and their certificates combined, students are ranked and a rank list for each ECA and Sports category, is published by the University sometime between the cut offs or even before on it's official website.

After looking at the rank lists, the students are supposed to apply separately to the colleges which provide admission under ECA/Sports for their respective categories. Then eventually after 2-3 days, these colleges release the list of students who are selected through Sports/ECA and those students can take admission through the quota. Applicants who've applied for ECA/Sports are also eligible to take admission based on cut offs and can also shift colleges if getting a better one through the quotas. For the same, DU has also published the list of colleges which provide admissions through Sports and ECA quota, which can be found below- (Click On The Text)

However, this year in view of the pandemic situation, trials most probably may not be conducted and students may be marked and ranked on solely the basis of their certificates. Further, earlier students had to physically go to the colleges they wished to apply for under ECA/Sports and fill their forms, however, this year in view of the pandemic, DU may release an online procedure of doing so. As of now, this is what DU's Information Bulletin says-

Apart from this, Sports category also has Direct Admissions in a few cases, which is explained below in the extract taken from the UG Bulletin-

It is also important to note that the process explained above doesn't apply to St. Stephen's college as well as was followed last year. This year there may be some changes, so students are requested to keep checking the official DU Website (www.du.ac.in).
